Redensyl for hair growth

In this article, we will discuss about Redensyl for hair growth.

What is redensyl?
Mode of action of redensyl
Scientific researches of redensyl's action
Comparison with minoxidil
Redensyl based products

What is Redensyl?

Redensyl is the registered name of a mixture of seven compounds.
It was launched in 2014 by a Swiss company called Induchem.

The seven compounds of Redensyl and their mode of action.

1-DHQG- Dihydroquercitin  glucoside

Protect cells from apoptosis.
Increase proliferation of stem cells and the division of stem cells.
Increase metabolism of dermal papilla fibroblast.

2-EGCG2- Epigallocatechin gallate glucose

Power antioxidant reduces inflammation by inhibiting (interleukin) il8.
It also increases the proliferation of dermal papilla fibroblast.
It captures free radicals and stops them from damaging the hair follicle.
It promotes the growth of the hair follicle.

3-Glycine

We knew that glycine is an amino acid.
It is the major constituent of keratin-associated protein KAP
It increases hair strength

4-Zinc chloride

It incorporates cysteine into keratin, we know that how important keratin when we are talking about hair.
Zinc is also the major cofactor for many enzymes.

5-Sodium metabisulfite

It is used as a preservative to maintain the efficacy of these active compounds

6-Glycerin

It is used as a humectant and preservative.
It is also used as a conditioning agent for hair and scalp.

7-Water

Redensyl is a yellow color liquid origin from plants and biotechnology.
The best part is that it works on the stem cell level.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON REDENSYL

The research on redensyl is the latest. The major study of redensyl is done on three different levels.
1-Invitro- inside testube
2-Ex vivo- inside a Petri dish
3-Complete Clinical trial on human subjects.

1-Invitro test

In invitro assessment of redensyl, they test the effectiveness of DHQG to evaluate its effects on proliferation and gene expression, imitation of the new hair cycle.
And they also test EGCG2 on normal human keratinocytes to confirms its anti-inflammatory properties.
They confirmed all their properties.

2-Exo vivo assessment

It was done to check the capability of Redensyl to induce hair follicle growth of androgenic alopecia patients using model culture.
It was a comparative test between 1% of redensyl vs 1% of minoxidil.
So they compare the growth of follicles that are treated by1% minoxidil and 1%redensyl separately with untreated hair follicles

The sample size was small, it is about 30 follicles per donor and there were only 2 donors. The total sample size is 60 follicles, I think the sample size is small but here are the results
In comparison to untreated hair follicles,  1% redensyl-
The growth rate was increased by 75% after 7 days of treatment.
And after 10days of treatment growth rate was 214%.

Talking about 1% minoxidil vs untreated hair follicles-
25% growth rate after 7days of treatment.
After 10 days of treatment, the growth rate was 118%

3-The main Clinical trail
They have 26 patients who all had some form of alopecia, they were divided into two groups, one group of 14people, it was a test group in which 3% redensyl was tested.
Another group for the placebo of 12 people.
This whole clinical trial was about 84 days long.
There was a 29% increase in the ratio of hair density in the anagen phase and hair density in the telogen phase

What is the ratio of anagen/telogen signifies?
In any form of alopecia, the hair in the anagen phase(growing phase) is less and the hair follicles in the telogen phase(resting or falling phase) this is the reason why you go bald.

Their success rate was 85%, 12 out of 14 people.

MINOXIDIL VS REDENSYL
As I have already discussed the mode of action of redensyl above, I will discuss here about minoxidil.
Basically, minoxidil is a vasodilator used to widen blood vessels which increases blood circulation in the scalp.
Hair follicles get nutrition through this healthy blood circulation.
We know that recently works on the stem cells, dermal cells. It works on the base of our problem.

Some people finding minoxidil irritating on the scalp, on the other side redensyl causes no irritation and side effects.

Side effects of minoxidil-
  • Acne at the site of application
  • Swelling of face
  • Redness and itching
  • Inflammation of roots of the hair.
  • Burning of the scalp

PRODUCTS BASED ON REDENSYL

Generally, redensyl is incorporated into
1-SHAMPOOS
2- SERUMS

SHAMPOOS

First of all the shampoo which contains Redensyl as their main ingredient should not be used after oiling because it will interfere with its efficacy.
Massage the shampoo in your scalp for about 5-10 minutes, so that it will give enough time for the actives to work on your scalp.

The best Redensyl shampoo in the market now is- DETOXIE REDENSYL SHAMPOO

Hard Water Relief, Hair Fall Control & Pro Growth Shampoo With Redensyl, Onion Oil, Apple Cider & Japanese Matcha

First of all, it is free from parabens, sulfates, silicon, and salt.
Cruelty-free, Vegan.
Let's jump to the ingredients list-
Redensyl, Hydrolysed Soy Protein, Camellia Sinensis, Hydrolysed Keratin, Matcha, Larix Europaea Wood Extract, Moroccan Argan Oil, Glycine, Apple Cider Extract, Onion Peel Oil, Lemon Oil, Jojoba Ester, Demineralised Water, Capryl Glucoside, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Lauryl Sarcosinate, Decyl Glucoside, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, EDTA, Polyquaternium -10, D-Panthenol, Guar Hydroxy Propyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol.

Other than redensyl it is also a hard water defense shampoo, I had already discussed how dangerous hard water in one of my articles. It is full of other natural actives to stimulate hair growth.
I think if you are suffering from hair fall, hard water hair loss this the best shampoo.

2- SERUMS

The best redensyl serum in the market is of minimalist.

It also contains redensyl with other hair growth actives.
A super potent, multi-functional hair growth serum containing 5 proven ingredients. Capixyl 5% + Redensyl 3% + Procapil 3% + Anagain 3% + Baicapil 4%. Starts to show reduction in hairfall by 4th week and new hair growth by 8th week.

Conclusion

Redensyl studies are very promising and redensyl itself is a very potent compound, which can be used to treat hair fall and hair loss.
But I think the researches on redensyl should be done more because it is a very recent biotechnological compound.
At last, I want to say hair regrowth is not only about any topical product you must work on your diet and lifestyle, manage stress, exercise regularly.
Be happy.

HOW SCALP TENSION CAUSES HAIR LOSS On the top of our head directly underneath the skin is subcutaneous tissues a sheet of connective tissue called Galea aponeurotic . Galea is a Latin word that means helmet . Calcium is usually present in hard water as calcium carbonate (in the form of limestone and chalk) and calcium sulphate. Hard water is formed when water passes through limestone and chalk which mostly consist of calcium and magnesium . Water hardness is measured usually by the concentration of calcium and magnesium but iron and aluminum may also be present in some locations. THE SIMPLEST WAY TO IDENTIFY HARD WATER IS 1-Lather/F

Monsoon skincare tips to keep you ready this rainy season

Monsoon is right around the corner and the humidity in the environment can cause several skin issues. So, let's prepare your skin during the monsoon.
